The "Jewel of Jaipur" because it is lovingly called, remained the house of the Jaipur royalty till 1957, once it was 1st reborn into a luxury hotel by maharajah Sawai Man Singh II. but it wasn’t till 1972 that Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces took over the reins. it is currently the "jewel in the crown" among the authentic palaces of the Taj in India.
